Canada has no single investor visa. There are federal work permit routes, a dozen provincial entrepreneur streams and two federal programs that are currently closed to new applicants. Answer seven questions and see which ones are worth your time.
Each route below carries its own minimum investment, net worth and experience requirements, and most of them lead to a provincial nomination rather than directly to permanent residence. Two federal programs, the Start-up Visa and the Self-employed Persons Program, are not accepting new applications as of October 2026, and they are shown here so that you know to set them aside.
The result is a shortlist, not an eligibility assessment. Thresholds, draw cut-offs and intake status change several times a year, and a route that fits on paper can still fail on the business plan, the ownership structure or the settlement funds.
