About the Firm
Gigi Nag
LL.B, LL.M · Barrister & Solicitor · Notary Public
Gigi Nag practises corporate immigration and business law from the firm's North York office, acting for multinational employers and owner-managed businesses on intra-company transfers, LMIA-exempt work permits, free trade agreement programs, and the corporate work that comes with establishing, buying or selling a business in Canada.
She has worked in Canadian immigration since 2017, beginning as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant and founding Northern Pacific Canada Immigration Ltd. She learned the practice under a former senior manager of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and worked through a range of business immigration cases alongside a former IRCC business immigration manager. She was later called to the Ontario Bar, so that she could offer clients a deeper and broader range of services, and then worked at a Toronto-area firm in civil, corporate, employment and estate litigation. Her earlier career was in international trade and education: handling semiconductor and component business for global companies including Samsung, IBM and BlackBerry, with responsibility for cross-border trade and customs compliance, and then directing international education programs in Toronto in partnership with the Toronto District School Board and post-secondary institutions. That experience taught her to read how different companies are structured and how they work, and to adapt to each of them.
She serves clients in Korean, English and Mandarin, and is a member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, The Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Korean Canadian Lawyers Association. She has also served on the policy and education committees of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants. Away from the practice she mentors young people, helping them find their own direction and encouraging them to aim higher than they first imagine, and she supports work that creates opportunities for women, including as a volunteer with the Native Women's Resource Centre of Toronto and as an on-call translator with the Korean Legal Clinic.
